EFCC Arraigns Couple in Uyo Over Alleged Fraud

By Ogechi Okorie Abuja (Precise Post) – Uyo zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, arraigned one Gabriel Chizoba Ikpenwa and his wife, Lillian Nkechi Ikpenwa before Justice Archibong Archibong of Akwa Ibom State High Court, Uyo, for fraud. The commission stated this via it’s twitter handle @officialEFCC. The couple was arraigned alongside a Cooperative Society, Easycash Multipurpose, owned by the first accused Mr. Ikpenwa on two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N450,000.00 (Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).

Zamfara State has the highest gold deposits in the country. In addition, the state is also known for eight other minerals which are in commercial quantity. The suspect has been on the run for over two decades and was arrested while in the company of six other accomplices in the border town of Beitbridge on Monday night. Katsina FG Govt To Implement 222 Water, Sanitation Projects In 6 LGAs

The project would be executed jointly by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Katsina State Government. The project Supervisor, Mr Mamdam Nakyan made the disclosure on Tuesday in Katsina during the project’s inception meeting ahead of its take-off. According to him, the PEWASH project would be implemented by the ministry in 10 selected states, including Katsina. He said the ministry would rehabilitate 55 hand pumps, 11 solar motorised boreholes, and construct 18 new hand pumps and 27 solar powered boreholes in Bindawa, Danja and Funtua local government areas.Nakyan further said that the federal and Katsina State Governments would each provide 50 per cent of the funds for the project. COVID-19: NAPPS Urges FG, State Govts To Reopen Schools
