Reprisal: Seven Killed In Fresh Attack On Jemaa LGA, Kaduna

By Ogechi Okorie Abuja (Precise Post) – Fresh attacks and reprisals in Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have left no fewer than seven persons killed. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Ungwan Bido village where some local residents were killed and four injured. Also, two children are still missing. The incident was confirmed to Channels Television by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan who added that four houses were burnt down by the attackers. He said Sunday’s attack follows a reported killing of one herder, Isiyaka Saidu of Ungwan Pah village on Saturday by unknown persons with deep knives cut on his head. Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has condemned the fresh attacks and loss of lives in Jemaa local government and has directed security agencies to investigate and arrest all persons involved in the criminal actions. The victim is his neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter, Vanguard reports. It was gathered that the suspected rapist was arrested by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in the state. It was learned that but for the timely intervention of the officials of the security outfit, some irate youths would have lynched the suspected rapist. He escaped by whiskers as he was taken away by the NSCDC officials, who stormed the scene of the incident at Danjuma area of the metropolis. Contacted, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in the state, Olufemi Omole, said the girl’s underwear was stained with blood and semen. Omole added that the matter was under investigation, and the victim had been taken to the government hospital for a medical check-up. He said that the culprit is a neighbour to the girl’s parents. Power Grid Collapse Throws Parts of Nigeria into Blackout

Two of the power distribution companies in the country, Kaduna Electric and Eko Electricity Distribution Company, announced the national grid collapse on Sunday afternoon. Kaduna Electric, in a message to its customers via its Twitter handle, said, “We regret to inform you that the loss of power supply in our franchise – Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states – is as a result of the collapse of the national grid. The collapse occurred at about 11:26 am this morning. “Supply shall be restored as soon as the grid is back up. We regret all inconveniences,” the Disco added. NCDC Confirms 110 New Cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria

The agency in a report released via it’s twitter handle late Saturday night reported that Lagos State top the COVID-19 chat with 26 cases followed by FCT with 23 while Kaduna came third with 20 cases. Others are: Katsina-11; Ogun-7; Ekiti-6; latest Plateau-5; Rivers-4; Kano and Nasarawa-3 each and Niger-2. This latest confirmation brought the total confirmed cases in Nigeria to 67,330 out of which 62,819 patients have been discharged while 1,171 lives have been lost to COVID-19 related complications. The NCDC said that as at Saturday night, the total confirmed cases for each of the 36 states of the federation including the FCT is as follows:
