By Francis Etuko Abuja (Precise Post) – Chairman Senate Adhoc Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has said that it will release the schedule of events for the forthcoming public hearings on amendment of the constitution by next week. This is even as the subcommittees of the panel are expected to submit their reports by next week. Omo-Agege stated this on Thursday at the National Assembly, Abuja when the Steering Committee of the Constitution Review panel hosted the Eminent Elders Forum, led by Professor Echefuna Onyeabadi. The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, to the Deputy President of the Senate, Yomi Odunuga, disclosed this in a statement made available to Precise Post. Economic Independence: Senate President Calls For More Trade Between African Countries

By Ogechi Okorie Abuja (Precise Post) – A bill seeking the establishment of Armed Forces Service Commission on Wednesday was stepped down after generating mixed feelings amongst Senators during plenary. The bill was sponsored by the Minority Leader, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP, Abia South). Gold Mining Sites: FG, Nasarawa Collaborate To Ensure Security Along Border With FCT

Minister for Solid Minerals Development, Architect Olamilekan Adegbite, disclosed this when he hosted the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, in his office, on Tuesday. According to the Minister, the Federal Government has expended N15bn on minerals exploration across the country, under the ministry’s National Integrated Mineral Exploration Project, with tracts of gold deposits discovered between Nasarawa and Abuja. He further disclosed that already, the Federal Government is marketing the data gathered from the exploration project internationally, with investors showing interest to come in and mine gold through proper licensing.
