PUNCH Metro gathered that the disappearance of the student had caused panic among her family members and friends. Olatunde’s mother, Juliana Olajide, who lives in Jos, said on Thursday that her daughter had not been seen since the past one week after she took permission to fix her torn skirt by the school gate. #EndSARS Mayhem Cost Insurance Firms N4Billion – NIA

Following the violence that erupted during the EndSARS protest which led to the damage of properties, the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has disclosed that insurance companies paid N4 billion as claims arising from over 2,000 businesses affected by the mayhem. Ganiyu Musa, Chairman of the NIA, disclosed this at a news conference in Lagos on Thursday. Mr Musa also assured customers that all genuine claims emanating from the protests would be paid. He stated insurance operators were still collating claims stressing that every genuine claim would be settled. “The number of insured businesses that were affected at the last count was about 2,000 insured loss, and the industry has settled N4 billion claims out of N4.5 billion in respect of the #EndSARS protests. “Once they are documented and completed, we have the commitment of our members that the claims will be paid timely,” he explained. N600bn Lekki Deep Sea Port Nears 50% Completion

By Eromosele Abiodun Abuja – The effort by Nigeria to have a new seaport with better facilities is gathering momentum as the Core of Main Breakwater at the Lekki Deep Sea Port has been completed and construction 50 per cent completed. The Managing Director, Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, Mr. Du Ruogang, disclosed this recently, during the first quarterly monitoring visit by the Federal Ministry of Transportation to the project site in Lagos. The Lekki Deep Seaport Project was awarded to the Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited by Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on a build-own-operate-and-transfer (BOOT) agreement. Under this agreement, LFTZ is required to develop, finance, build, operate the port for a period of 45 years and transfer it to NPA thereafter. Slated for completion late 2022, the project is the single largest private investment in infrastructure in Nigeria being developed on non-recourse project finance basis with majority of financing being raised internationally.
