The Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, has made a fresh claim. He revealed that Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, is yet to congratulate him for winning the 2022 Ballon d’Or. Benzema and Ronaldo were former teammates at Real Madrid before the Portugal captain left for Juventus. The France international recently won this year’s Ballon d’Or ahead of Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne. When asked if Ronaldo had sent him a message of congratulation following his Ballon d’ Or triumph, Benzema told Telefoot, “No, not yet”. He added, “I always believed in myself, I knew that at some point or another, with my qualities and my ambitions, I could win it. “That’s why the last four years, I pushed, pushed again to get that trophy.”

Pat Utomi A Nigerian professor of political economy and management expert, Pat Utomi has stated that any politician that refuses to take part in the election debate ahead of the 2023 polls is unfit and should be disqualified. Utomi who addressed journalists in Abuja, appealed to Nigerian electorates to use their power to vote against candidates who fail to make themselves available for the debate, which he said is an avenue for them to assess the plans and capacity of candidates before the elections. He said; “The fortunes of South Korea were turned around because the electoral commission was so despondent about the quality of their politics that they decided that the thing that should matter the most for elections are debates between candidates. “So it became entrenched in the conventions of South Korean politics. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has dismissed reports that it is resuming the Abuja-Kaduna train service on November 24. Managing Director of NRC, Fidet Okhiria who described the news as false, said no definite date had been fixed for the resumption. Okhiria however added that the Federal Government is making every necessary effort to ensure it resumes before end of November. He said; ”I wish to inform the general public that the news is false because a definite date has not yet been fixed. ”It is true that the Minister announced that we will resume services on that route this November and efforts are being made by all necessary quarters to ensure we resume before the end of November. “I wish to reiterate the commitment of the Federal Government and the corporation to securing the lives and properties of our highly esteemed passengers and Nigerians.”

There are reports that Manchester United may terminate the contract of its star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.  This comes after the 37-year-old’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan. In the interview, Ronaldo stated that he felt “betrayed” by the club and has “no respect” for manager Erik ten Hag.  According to Sky Sports, Ten Hag and United players are extremely disappointed with the manner and timing of Ronaldo’s interview.  It adds that “United are likely to consider all their options now regarding the player”.  Short clips and quotes began to circulate on the Internet just after their 2-1 win at Fulham.
