By Olajide IdowuOsogbo – ) The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, produced Form CF001, containing WAEC-GCE certificate and Secondary School Testimonial of Gov. Ademola Adeleke before the Osun Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Osogbo. This was in compliance with the order of Justice Tertsea Kume, the Tribunal Chairman, on Nov. 25. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kume had ordered the National Chairman of INEC to produce Form CF001, after INEC in Osogbo office said the documents were not in it’s custody, but with its Headquarters in Abuja. Lead Counsel to INEC, Prof. Paul Ananaba, informed the court that the order given had been complied with and that the documents had been brought from Abuja by Mrs Joan Arabs, a Deputy Director. Arabs, thereafter, presented the documents to the court, which was admitted and afirmed that the documents had been produced in compliance to the order. Brazil legend, Pele, is in stable condition and has full control of his vital functions. Recall that Pele was on Wednesday taken to a hospital in Sao Paulo amid his ongoing battle with cancer. His daughter, Kely Nascimento, confirmed his hospitalization but insisted it was not an emergency. However, reports from Brazil say that Pele is stable and does not need to be submitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo. A note from the hospital released to the Brazilian press said: “After a medical evaluation, the patient was taken to a common room, without the need for hospitalization in a semi-intensive unit or ICU. “The former player has full control of vital functions and stable clinical condition.” Pele had been in and out of the hospital in recent months after having surgery to remove a tumour from his colon last year. Beijing, – The former Chinese head of state and Communist Party leader, Jiang Zemin will be laid to rest on Dec. 6. The body of “comrade’’ Jiang Zemin was flown to Beijing on Thursday and his coffin was received at the airport by President Xi Jinping and other top state officials, the state news agency Xinhua reported. Jiang died on Nov. 30, at the age of 96 following weeks of rumours about his health. A three-minute silence will be observed nationwide on the day of the funeral. The PUNCH reports that a Federal High Court sitting in Minna, the Niger State Capital, has ordered the arrest of General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff. General Faruk Yahaya’s arrest order was given over contempt. Justice Halima Abdulmalik, who issued the warrant and presided over the case, said the order followed notice brought before the court in pursuant of order forty two rule ten of the Niger State High Court Civil Procedure 2018. The judge ruled that the order is commuting Yahaya to be kept in Minna correctional custody for contentions of order of the court on October 12, 2022, adding that the COAS is to remain in custody till he has been “purged”of the contempt. Also, the judge issued that the Commandant Training and Doctrine Command, Minna, Major General Olugbenga Olabanji, be arrested and imprisoned for a similar offense. Justice Abdulmalik then adjourned the case to December 8 for continuation.
