Mercedes Benz, Lexus SUV confiscated as EFCC arrest eight suspected Yahoo boys in two Abuja Estates (photos)

The Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters.  The commission in a statement released gave the names of the suspects as Usifo Mophy, Eze Richard, Abdulkadir Sadiq and Emmanuel Joseph. Others are Tuoyo Kelvin, Joel Omojevwe, Joshua Omojevwe and Oreva Omojevwe. The agency added that the suspects were apprehended at EFAB Estate Gwarimpa and Federal Housing Authority Estate, Nyanya, Abuja following credible intelligence about their internet-related fraud activities. Items recovered from them include over 10 phones of different makes, HP laptops, a MacBook, 2 Toyota Camry cars, a Mercedes Benz C300 and a Lexus RX 350. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Police Begin Manhunt For killers Of Uzodimma’s kinsman

Owerri, – The Imo Police Command says it has begun a manhunt for the killers of a retired military officer and Gov. Hope Uzodimma’s kinsman, Mr Tony Enoch. Enoch was the Presidential Campaign Council Chairman for Ahmed Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima election in Uzodimma’s Oru East Local Government Area (LGA). He was gruesomely murdered by yet-to-be identified gunmen in the state. NAICOM Charges Insurers On Compliance With New Operational Guidelines

Lagos, – The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has charged operators within the industry to comply with its new guidelines on products and services to ensure professionalism. Mr Rasaaq Salami, Head, Corporate Communication and Development, NAICOM said this in a statement on Friday in Lagos. He said that the new guidelines include Insurance Regulatory Sandbox Operational Guidelines, Market Conduct Guidelines for Takaful and Retakaful Insurance Operators. Others are Enterprise Risk Management and Framework for Takaful and Retakaful Operators in Nigeria. Salami said that new guideline has the strategic objective to drive innovation of products and services in the industry. According to him, the guidelines are designed to ensure that operators are professional in the conduct of their businesses in line with best practices. “The commission expects all operators to ensure compliance with the new guidelines to the benefit of all stakeholders,” it stated. Takaful is rooted in Islamic insurance where members contribute money into a pool system or mutual fund guaranteeing each other against loss or damage. Gov Chukwuma Soludo The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo promised on Thursday, to pay the 2022/2023 academic session’s third term tuition fees of 2, 350 pupils of Urban Girls Secondary School, Fegge, Onitsha. The southwestern Africa nation of Angola has now emerged the topmost crude oil producer in Africa, upstaging Nigeria as the latter’s output level hits a new low. The direct communication data in the April 2023 monthly oil market report (MOMR) of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) shows that Angola recorded 1.06 million barrels per day (mbpd) crude production in April 2023. Despite initial optimism, Nigeria’s oil output dropped 23 per cent, month-on-month, MoM, to 999,999 barrels per day, bpd, in April 2023, from 1.3 million bpd in the preceding month of March 2023.
