By Callistus Agwaza, Jalingo TARABA – A group of Kuteb elders from Takum local government area of Taraba State have accused the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas of deliberately inciting anarchy to the area following his plan to rob the Kuteb tribe of the stool of Ukwe Takum. The spokesman of the group, Joshua Rimamsikwe during a briefing with journalists in Jalingo on Thursday said that the plan by the governor to dismantle the ancestral stool of Ukwe Takum to create three third class tribal Chiefs in Takum was not only an invitation to crisis but an agenda to wipe out the Kuteb race from the surface of the earth. NNPCL debunks fuel price hike

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has assured Nigerians that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol. NNPCL urged Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assured them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price. This was disclosed in a terse statement by NNPCL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, on Thursday. Missing Bauchi bikers saved from military detention in Jos

Nine commercial motorcyclists, known as “yan achaba,” traveling from Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State to Lafia in Nasarawa, who reportedly went missing, have been found in Jos, the Plateau State capital. Reports revealed that there was tension among parents of the missing youths who were en route to Lafia for their Bike taxi business, before losing contact with family and friends last Saturday. The Chairman of Kirfi Local Government Council, Abdulkadir Umar Dewu confirmed their release to journalists on Thursday. He said the youths were arrested by the military task force Operation Safe Haven and detained for four days without any incriminating things found against them. The suspension order placed on Lukman Afolabi, the caretaker chairman of Ede South’s main local government, has been lifted. The suspension was lifted Thursday by the Osun State House of Assembly. This was revealed by Olamide Tiamiyu, the Chief Press Secretary of the Speaker, on Thursday. According to reports, Afolabi was suspended by the House of Assembly on Wednesday. He was suspended for alleged misconduct. Afolabi was instructed to hand over to his vice; however, after an investigation, the suspension was lifted.
