By Callistus Agwaza, Jalingo Stakeholders of Kuteb ethnic group in Takum local government area of Taraba State have dragged the Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, the Taraba State government and the Attorney General of Taraba State before a Jalingo High court challenging the appointment of three third class Chiefs and the proposed appointment of a first class Chief of Takum on rotational basis. The plaintiffs, Sule Audu, Auwal Ibrahim and Rimamnyang Boyi Ahmadu in an originating summons through their counsel, Barrister, Festus Idepefo (SAN) urged Justice Ali Bappa Abbare of the Jalingo High court to among others, issue a declaration of the court that the Taraba State Establishment of one rotational first class chief and three third class chiefs Law No 01 of 2024 did not establish new chiefdoms in Takum. Chieftaincy tussle: Governor Kefas spearheading injustice in Taraba – Kuteb Yatso

By Sylvanus Viashima, JALINGO – Following the continued wrangling over the stool of Ukwe Takum in Takum local government area of Taraba State, the Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) has accused the state governor Dr Agbu Kefas of perpetuating injustice against his own people. The National President of the KYN Emmanuel Ukwen who was represented by by John Irash, disclosed this on Tuesday at a press conference in Jalingo, in reaction to the pronounced appointment of two Third Class Chiefs in Takum by the state government earlier. Chieftaincy Tussle: Kuteb accuses Gov. Ishaku of plans to incite violence in Takum

By Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo The Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) an umbrella body of Kuteb tribe in Nigeria has accused the Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku of plans to stir crisis in Takum over his proposal to make the Ukwe Takum stool rotational among among Kuteb, Chamba and Kpanzo ethnic groups. Mr. Emmanuel Ukwen, the President of the association told newsmen at a Press conference in Jalingo that the stool of Ukwe Takum, which is over 100 years has been an exclusive preserve for the Kuteb ruling houses of Likam and Akenten and that the selection process has been handled by only Kuteb kingmakers based purely on Kuteb peoples’ native laws and customs.
