Cult Killings: Akwa Ibom LG Chairman Imposes Dusk-to-dawn Curfew

Following the menace of cult-related activities, Mr Nyakno Uwemedimo Okoibu, the Chairman of Ikono Local Government in Akwa-Ibom state has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the area. The curfew which lasts from 6am-6pm daily commenced on Tuesday, December 28th till further notice. A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Engr Nsisong Ntuk, stated that the restriction is necessitated by his desire to check, halt, stop or prevent cult related activities which have resulted in killings and looting of property in the area. The statement reads in part, “The chairman of Ikono LGA, has imposed total restrictions of movement of persons, motorcycles, keke, cars, etc. within the perimeters of Ikono Local Government Area, from the hours of 6pm to 6am daily, effective from tomorrow, December 28, 2021, until further notice. “The ban, though painful, is a child of necessity and is therefore in the overall best interest of every well-meaning indigene of Ikono and other citizens residing in the council area. “As a responsible government, we cannot fold our arms and watch events go the other …

Anxiety in Ondo community over influx of Fulani men

By Dayo Johnson Akure (Precise Post) – Residents of the Okitipupa council area of Ondo state have raised the alarm over the influx of Fulani men in the community, the Vanguard has reported. Over 45 group of Northerners were reportedly sighted in the community by the residents. Reports had it that the Fulani men were brought to the community on Thursday in a truck and dumped around 9:00 pm near Army Barracks in the town for an unspecified purpose. Nasarawa to introduce land reforms to remove bottlenecks in ease of doing business

This was made known when the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule met with stakeholders in land administration from the side of government, as well as members of the Nasarawa State Investment and Economic Advisory Council, at the Government House, on Monday. Engineer Sule pointed out that his administration recognises land as a major requirement when it comes to access for development, stressing that efforts are geared towards address most of the challenges encountered when it comes to land issues. Angry Community Kill Two Suspected Killers of Ardo-kola Council Boss

By Callistus Agwaza Jalingo (Precise Post) – Two persons suspected to be among the killers of the Chairman of Ardo-kola local government area in Taraba state, Salihu Dovo were brutally killed by Nahuta and Ardo-kola communities on Sunday. An eye witness told our correspondent that the two persons were seen trying to escape from Ardo-kola village with two AK.47 rifles few hours after the council boss was killed by unknown gunmen.
