Obajana: Dangote, Bello meet, fail to resolve dispute

The Kogi State Government said that it had not reached any agreement with the Dangote Group concerning the ownership of the Obajana Cement Plant. The plant, located in Obajana, Kogi State, has been a subject of controversy as both parties claim to be the legitimate owners of the plant. In a new development, after meetings and interventions by stakeholders, the Kogi State Government has put measures in place to take Dangote Group to court and reclaim ownership of the plant. This was disclosed in a statement by the state Commissioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo; a copy of which was sent to the media. Fanwo said the battle for the ownership of the plant was far from over and that the government was ready to “battle it to the end”. Kogi State Gov. Bello Signs University, Hospital Bills Into Law

Yahaya Bello of Kogi has signed into law two bills for the  establishment of two facilities – Confluence University of Science and Technonology, Osara, and the Central Refererral Hospital, Okene. A statement issued on Saturday in Lokoja said that the governor signed the two bills on Aug. 21. The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Onogu Mohammed, who signed the statement, quoted the governor as saying that the establishment of the university was to provide technical manpower for the state and the country at large. Bello said that the move would also reduce unemployment as the students of the university are expected to become self-employed and employers of labour upon graduation . According to him, the proposed Central Refferal Hospital is aimed at providing quality healthcare services to the people at affordable cost. He promised to commit the needed resources and funds s to ensure the completion of the projects before the end of his tenure in office. According to The Nation, Kogi Governor of Kogi Yahaya Bello has accused politicians of playing games with Nigerians through the COVID-19 pandemic. Yahaya Bello’s Mother, Hajia Hawa Dies in Abuja

Our Reporter Abuja (Precise Post) – The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s on Sunday lost his mother, Hajia Hawa Bello. It was gathered that the governor’s mother died in Abuja on Sunday after a brief illness. It was further learnt that her body is expected to be buried today in Okene, Kogi State according to the Muslim rite. Bello inaugurates N500m World Bank Community Micro Projects in Kogi
