Gunmen have attacked a private hospital in Adamawa State and abducted its proprietor. It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the Aisha Hospital, located in Ngurore, a community in Yola South Local Government Area, and took away the proprietor, Dr Saidu Bala. Dr Saidu is a famous doctor who has held topflight positions, including being the immediate past Medical Director of Specialist Hospital Yola, Adamawa’s biggest and best state-owned medical centre. A source said Tuesday morning that the gunmen broke into the Aisha Hospital after 6pm Monday, when Ngurore residents had just observed the last evening Muslim prayer. “As they got to the hospital, the gunmen shot sporadically to scare people away,” one source said, adding: “They then went to Dr Saidu Bala’s office and took him.” According to the source, the operation was swift, “so fast that it was conducted in less than five minutes.” Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, assuring that a move was on to apprehend the suspects and rescue the abducted medical chief. “Our men found three used bullet …

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has announced the reappointment of Prof Adekunle Ajayi as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti..Ajayi’s reappointment was made known by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire on Thursday. Court Stops Chevron’s Chief Medical Director, Rotimi Babalola From Evicting Wife

According to a report by Daily Post, the Lagos State High Court, General Civil Division, has barred Chevron Nigeria’s Chief Medical Director (CMD), Rotimi Babalola, from evicting his wife, Adediwura Babalola, from their home. In the Certified True Copy of the ruling seen by DAILY POST, Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi restrained Babalola, his privies, or workmen from entering, trespassing or disturbing the possession. The building is located at No. 8, Service Crescent, Cooperative Villa, Badore in Ajah, Lagos. The judge said all actions must be put on hold pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice filed with the application. Adediwura dragged Babalola to court to seek dissolution of their marriage. The suit is numbered LD/9231WD/2021. Justice Ogunjobi also ordered the husband to return household equipment removed from the home between April 20 and July 20, 2021. The petitioner’s counsel, Adeleke Agbola, had requested accelerated grant of the injunction in view of Babalola’s alleged insistence to evict Adediwura. Hearing was adjourned until September 20 when the Lagos State High Court will resume from annual vacation.
