Freedom Atsepoyi, the Nigerian comedian, who is popularly known as Mr Jollof, has disclosed how he was saved from being kidnapped at gunpoint. Mr Jollof on Thursday said he was kidnapped at gunpoint but the police saved his life. He made this known in a post shared on his Instagram page. He, however, failed to disclose where the incident took place. His post read: “Thank God for life I was kidnapped at gunpoint but the intervention of the Nigeria Police I was able to escape “However my MTN phone was stolen.”

The burial arrangement of of late Nigerian comedian, Caleb Itietie aka Calibird, has been fixed. According to the information on his obituary, the comedian will be buried on Friday, April 9. A Novelty match will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at Alao AKA Bashorunn Park Lanre Awolokun in Gbagada, followed by a Candle Night on Wednesday, April 7. On Thursday, April 8, a service of songs will be held at Harvesters International Christian Centre. Defence Minister Says Security Agencies Can Use Force On Protesters

By Ogechi Okorie Abuja (Precise Post) – Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, has reacted to the Lekki Toll Gate protest, saying that the security agencies can use force when required to deal with protesters. “We can use minimum force, commensurate with what is seen on the ground,” he said. Magashi slammed the peaceful protesters, saying the military and the government would not allow another round of protests to happen, because of the “unpatriotic elements” infiltrating the protesters. According to TheCable, the defence minister stated these on Saturday in reaction to the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest. At the Saturday morning rally, more than 30 protesters, including Debo Adebayo, a Nigerian comedian, better known as Mr Macaroni, were arrested by security operatives. The protesters have, however, been arraigned before a mobile court in Lagos, and granted bail. Abuja – The police on Thursday said it had arrested a comedian, Augustine Valentine, popularly known as `MC Fine’, for alleged spread of fake news. Biodun Makanjuola, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the force in Bwari, FCT, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), that Mr Valentine posted a false report on facebook alleging the apprehension of a female kidnapper. “After investigation, we found the report to be fake,” he said. NAN reports that the middle-aged woman, simply identified as Zulai, had been attacked on Wednesday, around Zenith Bank area in Bwari, over the suspicion that she had attempted to kidnap a two-year-old male child. The police, who were quick to intervene, arrested the woman and, during investigation, found out that she was physically and psychologically unstable.
