Second Coronavirus Case Confirmed Ondo

By Ojo Oluwafemi Akure (Precise Post) – The Ondo State government, on Friday, confirmed the second case of Coronavirus in Akure, the state capital. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, confirmed the second case at a news conference in Akure. Recall that this confirmation came barely a week after an army officer, who just returned from India, tested positive for the deadly virus and was said to have been moved to an isolation centre. “Yes, I can confirm that the person was discovered in Akure here and has been on admission since yesterday (Thursday). “The patient has been transferred to the state Infectious Disease Hospital, along Igbatoro road, Akure, and is responding to treatment,” the commissioner said. He appealed to the people of the state to always adhere strictly to all the preventive measures prescribed by government, including regular hand washing, staying away from crowded gathering and maintaining social distancing, among others. We’re Well Equipped to Treat COVID-19 Patient, Says Akeredolu

By Precise Post staff Akure (Precise Post) – Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has informed that the state is well equipped to treat the only COVID-19 patient it currently has and as such would not be moving the patient to Lagos. Speaking at a world press conference in Akure, Governor Akeredolu said the state’s own Infectious Disease Hospital where the patient is currently admitted has all the needed facilities. The Ondo Governor urged the people not to be scared as the patient did not leave the premises of a military barrack when he returned from Indian. Akeredolu stated that the military officer returned from Indian on an official assignment and was placed on self isolation but developed symptoms on Friday which made his samples to be collected and tested positive. By Muftau Ogunyemi Akure – Mr Dare Aragbaiye, the Ondo State Head of Service, has called on MDAs and NGOs not to reject members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)  posted to them for their primary assignments. Aragbaiye made this call while hosting Mrs Grace Akpabio, the State Coordinator of  the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Friday in Akure. The HoS said the state government had put a machinery in place to ensure that members of the corps are optimally utilised to achieve the accelerated transformation of the state. Alaba-Olusola Oke Odigbo (Ondo State) – The Ondo State government, on Wednesday, cautioned bitumen producing communities against committing any act of violence capable of destroying the benefit of bitumen exploitation. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bitumen producing communities include Orisunmibare/Ilubinrun Camp, Ufara-Moraye (Araromi Obu), Ilubinrun/Ajayi Camp, Mile 2 Camp, Ogunmakin/Odomode Camp, Mulekangbo Camp and Agbabu. Prof. Bayonle Ademodi, the state Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, gave the advice during an interactive session with bitumen host communities in Odigbo, Odigbo Local Government area of the state. Ademodi assured the traditional rulers of the host communities that their views and opinions would be adequately captured and considered as the bitumen development process moved forward. Roads: Ondo Govt begins rehabilitation of Failed Portions

The state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, made this known to newsmen in Akure on Friday. Ondo State Govt To Partner With NGOs On Sports Development
