By Chris Udochukwu Abuja (Precise Post) – The Nasarawa State government is collaborating with the Rice Farmers Association, with plans already concluded to attract investment to the tune of N10billion, to assist rice farmers in the state, under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) anchor borrowers scheme. Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, disclosed this while flagging-off the sales of fartilizer and other agricultural inputs, for this year’s raining season, at Andaha, in Akwanga Local Government Area, on Thursday. The governor restated the determination of his administration to ensure that agricultural potentials of the state are fully harnessed for the overall benefit of the people. According to Engineer Sule, until the state is able to exploit its agricultural potentials properly, Nasarawa may not be able to generate the desired employment for the teeming populace, as well as create wealth for the wellbeing of the society. Herdsmen machete Ondo female farmer for resisting grazing on plantation

A female rice farmer, identified as Amaka Okafor, was allegedly attacked by people suspected to be herdsmen in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday. It was gathered that the herdsmen met the woman on her farm and wanted to graze on the farm but the victim tried to stop them from destroying her rice plantation. According to a source, the encounter led to an argument between them and the herdsmen allegedly inflicted machete cut injuries on the woman, leaving her unconscious on the farm and ran away. The source said the 37-year-old woman was inflicted with machete cuts on her head and hands by the herders, adding that she was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, said the command had commenced investigation into the matter. “The good news is that the victim could identify the assailants and we have begun investigation into it. Busted! How Boko Haram Killed 40 of the 60 Rice Farmers in Borno

By Our Reporter Abuja (Precise Post) – How suspected Boko Haram members killed at least forty farmers in Borno state have emerged, the Newspot can report. An unspecified number were also taken away by the criminals. The farmers were waylaid on their way to their rice farms which they were harvesting before the surprise attack happened. The attack occurred around Marrabati and Hammayya villages, near Zabarmari in Jere local government of Borno state on Saturday morning.
