LAGOS – Jude Idimogu, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has urged Nigerians to use the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration to strengthen unity and togetherness.Idimogu made the call in a statement congratulating Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.He said the festival should be used to promote national cohesion and peaceful coexistence among citizens.“The celebration of Eid-el-Fitr should renew our faith in God and increase our love and togetherness as a united country,” he said.Idimogu called on Muslims to use the period to pray for the nation and its continued progress.He urged them to pray for love, peace, unity and development across the country.The former lawmaker also stressed the need for adherence to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, noting that they promote unity, integrity and good neighbourliness.He appealed to Muslim leaders to preach love, unity and tolerance among adherents, adding that no society could grow without such values.Idimogu also reaffirmed the commitment of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led governments at the state and federal levels to protecting lives and property, irrespective of political affiliation.He urged Muslim faithful to emulate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad in their daily interactions and wished them a peaceful and successful celebration.(NAN)
