ABUJA (PRECISE POST ) – Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has called on the Igbo community in Ekiti State to support the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, citing the administration’s commitment to economic growth, business-friendly policies, and inclusive governance.
Uzodimma made the appeal during the 2026 Igbo Cultural Day Celebration held in Ekiti State, where he joined Governor Biodun Oyebanji and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people resident in the state.
The Imo governor who announced this on his X handle @Hope_Uzodimma1 on Sunday, described the event as a demonstration of the enduring bonds of unity, cultural pride, and national cohesion that continue to strengthen Nigeria’s progress and development.
He commended the peaceful coexistence enjoyed by Igbo communities across the South-West and other parts of the country, noting that they have made significant contributions to commerce, trade, and socio-economic advancement through their entrepreneurial spirit and resilience.
Speaking ahead of Ekiti State’s next governorship election, Uzodimma urged members of the Igbo community to back Governor Oyebanji’s continuity agenda, arguing that the administration has sustained an enabling environment for businesses, investments, and economic expansion.
According to him, the favourable business climate created by the Oyebanji administration has allowed many entrepreneurs and investors, including members of the Igbo community, to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy.
The governor also reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration to building a more prosperous and inclusive nation, stressing that state governments across the federation have continued to advance the vision through purposeful leadership and developmental initiatives.
He encouraged Igbo residents in Ekiti to remain hopeful, steadfast, and supportive of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying collective efforts and sustained commitment to progressive governance would help deliver a brighter future for Nigeria.
