Osogbo, Osun State – Governor Ademola Adeleke has firmly denied speculation that he plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described the report as a “calculated attempt to create confusion and mislead the public.” He stressed that he remains a committed member of the PDP and is focused on delivering good governance to the people of Osun State.
“Our attention has been drawn to a false claim that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to join the ADC,” Rasheed said. “This is nothing more than a ploy by those rattled by the Governor’s rising popularity. Governor Adeleke is dedicated to strengthening the PDP and bringing more development to Osun.”
The governor emphasized that his administration is concentrating on key projects and voter mobilisation ahead of next year’s election. He noted that the wave of unsolicited endorsements he has recently received appears to have unsettled political rivals.
“Governor Adeleke’s only priority is to continue providing dividends of democracy to the people who entrusted him with their mandate. He has no intention of leaving the PDP,” the statement added.
The governor urged supporters to ignore the “fake news” and instead focus on rallying voters for his re-election bid. “As a man of the people, Governor Adeleke will never go against the will of Osun citizens or the PDP family,” Rasheed affirmed.
The clarification comes amid growing political activity in the state as parties intensify preparations for the upcoming election season.
