ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – In a solemn yet momentous ceremony at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday formally decorated Nigeria’s newly appointed Service Chiefs, marking what he described as a renewed national resolve to secure peace and protect lives across the country.
The event, attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, followed the Senate’s confirmation of the appointments on Wednesday.

Those decorated include:
General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff (@DHQNigeria)
Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff (@HQNigerianArmy)
Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of Air Staff (@NigAirForce)
Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff (@NigerianNavy)
President Tinubu, while congratulating the officers, stressed that the ceremony went beyond symbolism. He described it as a call to renewed service, discipline, and dedication, urging the new military leaders to intensify efforts in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and restoring peace across all regions.
“The security of our nation is not just a mandate, it is a sacred duty,” the President said, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and stability of every Nigerian citizen.
Precise Post recalls that the Senate and House of representatives had on Wednesday screened and confirmed the appointments of the new Service Chiefs.
Few hours after confirmation of appointments of new Service Chiefs, the presidency reacted to it with elation .
Specifically the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters , Senator Basheer Lado in a personally signed statement, expressed his happiness on the smooth screening and confirmation of appointments of the Service Chiefs by the Senate .
Senator Lado in the statement said : “As the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, I facilitated this crucial interface to ensure a smooth and coordinated engagement between the Executive and the Legislature, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to effective governance and national security.
