ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear vote of confidence from the people of the state.
Saraki, in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Sunday, said the people of Osun had four years to assess Adeleke’s performance and had chosen to give him another mandate.
“The people of Osun have spoken, and they have spoken clearly,” Saraki said, noting that there could be no greater endorsement of a leader than the freely expressed verdict of the people he serves.
He also commended the people of Osun State for coming out to exercise their franchise and, importantly, remaining vigilant in protecting their votes.
According to him, at a time of legitimate concerns over the strength and credibility of Nigeria’s democratic institutions, every election in which the people’s will is freely expressed, accurately counted and respected represents an important victory for democracy.
Saraki said Adeleke’s second term comes with both the benefit and responsibility of a renewed mandate, urging him to deepen the work already started by his administration.
He expressed confidence that the governor would use the next four years to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people and build a stronger and more prosperous Osun State.
“Congratulations, my brother,” Saraki added.
