Burna Boy, Ayra Starr’s songs make Obama’s summer playlist

Songs by Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy and Ayra Starr have been included in former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama’s 2023 summer playlist. The 44th American leader unveiled the list via his Twitter handle on Thursday night. “‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ by Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy featuring US-based British rapper, 21 Savage, and Ayra Starr’s ‘Sability’ were the only afro beats songs on the playlist. Sharing the playlist, Obama tweeted, “Like I do every year, here are some songs I’ve been listening to this summer — a mix of old and new. Look forward to hearing what I’ve missed.” Wizkid, Tems and Rema had made President Obama’s playlists in the past. ‘Iron Man’ of Rema’s debut EP made the 2019 Obama summer playlist, while Wizkid and Tems’ hit song ‘Essence’ was included in the 2021 Barack Obama’s summer playlist.

Blackface calls out Burna Boy, Asake and Wizkid of intellectual Property Theft

Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz group, Blackface, accuses Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake of intellectual property theft. During an interview with Naija FM in Lagos, the singer, who is best known for his hit ‘Ghetto Child,’ said that the group sampled his songs without his consent. Wizkid and Burna Boy’s song ‘Ginger’, according to Blackface, closely mimics his single ‘Twist & Turn’ in terms of rhythm, beat, and the way the melody begins and ends. Grammy-award winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has warned veteran American rapper and record label executive, Diddy, to respect his status as a music legend to avoid being embarrassed by him on the dance floor. The duo were recently spotted at a star-studded party. Apparently, Diddy had challenged the self-styled ‘African Giant’ to a dance battle which didn’t sit well with him. Famous Nigerian musician, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better called Burna Boy, has stated that he only has two similarities with his colleague Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid. He stated this while refuting the claims that he is competing with Wizkid. Burna in his recent interview with an American–Haitian hip hop disc jockey, DJ Whoo Kid, explained that there is no rivalry between him and Wizkid as both of them are two different artists. He added that they were both on different lanes of music, and claimed that Wizkid’s music is all about bitches, while he sings about real life. Burna said: “No, we are not competing. Grammy award winning singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy has launched his own cannabis brand in Miami. Black Cannabis Magazine reported that Burna Boy’s Cannabis brand BrkFst, is a partnership with Jokes Up/ Ice Kream, and it was launched in South Beach, Miami, a few days ago. It is speculated that the brand is inspired by Burna Boy’s hit single “Last Last”, where he sings… “I need Igbo and shayo (Shayo).” ‘Last Last’ which was released on 13th, May 2022 talks about heartbreak which was referred to as ‘Breakfast’ in the song while a part of the lyrics talked about a way to get over the heartbreak by indulging in weed (Igbo) and alcohol (shayo). Cubana Club Shooting: Arrested Police Escorts Opens Up

The police escorts attached to Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, who were arrested over a shooting at socialite Obi Cubana’s club have broken silence.
