JOS – Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau says that the state organised the 2025 Christmas Carols and Praise Festivals to promote unity, togetherness and tolerance among residents of the state.
Mufwang said this on Tuesday night shortly after inspecting facilities at the Ten Commandant Prayer ground, Du, Jos South Local Government Area, venue of the event.
The governor insisted that his administration is poised towards ensuring a more united, peaceful and tranquil Plateau.
“The whole essence of this carols is to bring our people together; it is a ground to unite Plateau people and to begin to break all barriers.
“This programme will enable our people to come out of their shells and know that together we are much more stronger.
“I believe that going forward, this is going to be one of the biggest platforms to unite Plateau people,”he said.
Speaking, Mr Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chairman, Central Planning Committee of the carols, said that the event would be a memorable one.
Jatau said that the three-day event would hold Friday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 30.
He disclosed that Gen. Yakubu Gowon, former Nigeria’s Head of State, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria and Mrs Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, would attend the event
Jatau also disclosed that Mr Yemi Osinbajo, the Former Vice President of Nigeria and Dr Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, would serve as the Guest Speakers at the event.
He added that the event would feature song ministration from guest artists and other groups from within and outside the state.
Also speaking, retired Brig.-Gen. Gakji Shipi, the Special Adviser to the governor on Security, assured residents and visitors of the safety of lives and property during the event.(NAN)
