Gov Abiodun’s ex-aide, Prof. Odemuyiwa dies in fatal auto crash

The immediate past Senior Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Vocational and Technical Education, Prof Joseph Odemuyiwa, is dead. Odemuyiwa, a Professor of Business Education with a passion for training people in vocational skills, reportedly died on Tuesday in an accident on his way to Ibadan. The lawmaker representing Remo North State constituency, Dickson Awolaja, confirmed the news to our correspondent. Awolaja, who is also from Isara Remo just like the late professor said, “I just confirmed from a friend not long ago. Prof was said to be going to Ibadan when he had the accident. This is sad.” Odemuyiwa, aged 66 was once a lecturer at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, as well as Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun both owned by the state government.

Alleged fund diversion: Ogun LG chairmen prostrate to beg Abiodun (video)

Local Government chairmen in Ogun State on Tuesday prostrated before Governor Dapo Abiodun, seeking forgiveness over a comment made by their Ijebu East counterpart, Wale Adedayo, that Abiodun had diverted funds meant for the councils. Adedayo had written a letter to former Governor Olusegun Osoba and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the manners in which local government funds were being spent. Adedayo had claimed that the 20 local governments in Ogun State were being run on zero allocation due to the joint account being operated by the State and local governments. According to him, the development had prevented local government chairmen from performing their functions to people at the grassroots. He alleged that the bail-out funds and Ecological funds meant for the councils did not get to them, but were diverted by Governor Abiodun. However, at a meeting held with all the council chairmen yesterday, apologies were tendered to the governor. Ogun: Abiodun presents 2023 budget Thursday

Barring any last-minute change, Governor Dapo Abiodun will present the 2023 appropriation bill to the Ogun State House Assembly on Thursday, November 17, 2022. This is in consonance with Section 121 of the nation’s 1999 Constitution. At 10am on Thursday, the lawmakers will play host to Abiodun, a release signed by the Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Service, Deji Adeyemo, has said. The release indicated that the presentation of the 2023 budget proposal would take place in the hallowed chamber of the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Adeyemo urged all invited stakeholders, guests and other government functionaries to be seated by 9.30am prompt. The budget presentation is fourth since the inception of the present administration in the state.
