There is palpable tension in and around the Ile Ipo market in the Alimosho LGA of Lagos, following a clash that led to the torching of stalls and goods. The crisis began on Wednesday night following a rift over a game of lotto. When TheCable visited the market on Thursday, it was learnt that a trader who is from the northern region of the country, played the popular game and won a certain amount of money. However, when the trader walked to the lotto vendor to claim his money, there was a disagreement over the exact amount won. The altercation between the trader and the lotto vendor was said to have snowballed into an ethnic squabble and a free-for-all fight which was seized by hoodlums. Fire was set to a section of the market amid the faceoff, leaving traders and customers scampering for safety. Thereafter, shops were looted and burnt as tempers flared. Chaos as hoodlums rob, raze bus carrying East-bound travelers in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed an attack by some daredevil armed criminals who looted a commercial bus at Oke Ado Junction, in Ijebu Imushin, along the Ijebu-Ode-Benin Expressway. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday. The passengers were said to be on their way to the South-East geopolitical zone for Easter celebrations when the hoodlums launched the attack, robbed them and set the bus ablaze. “It happened in Oke Ado junction at Ijebu Mushin. A luxury bus of Mercedes Benz was burnt down. The vehicle was coming from Maza Maza (in Lagos State) before it encountered the hoodlums,” the police spokesperson said. How hoodlums attacked Anambra LG Secretariat, set police station ablaze

Hoodlums numbering about 30 on Thursday burnt a part of the Anaocha Local Government Headquarters in Neni, Anambra State. The hoodlums, who were said to be heavily armed, also set ablaze the Neni Police Station. It was gathered that the attack occurred between 3:00 am and 4:00 am on Thursday. A source in the area said the hoodlums were shouting, “DPO must go. He has overstayed. Couple Murdered By Suspected Assassins In Jigawa

A man and his wife have been shot dead by suspected assassins in Malammadori Local Government Area of Jigawa State, the police have confirmed. ASP Lawan Shiisu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who confirmed the incident said that it occurred on November 13, at about 2:30 a.m. He said suspected hoodlums had stormed the residence of the deceased, Alhaji Musa and Hajiya Adama, in Kebberi village and shot them dead. Hoodlums kill police inspector, bomb station in Imo

An inspector attached to Orsu Police station in Imo Police was killed on Thursday during a heavy bombardment during a gun duel with hoodlums.
