ABUJA- President Bola Tinubu says his administration will not condone the activities of bandits terrorising Nigeria or succumb to their demands for ransom to free children held hostage. Mr Tinubu made the statement at Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting held at the Presidential Villa in the nation’s federal capital. Police confirm death of Namang, Plateau APC spokesman, in foiled kidnap bid

JOS- The Police Command in Plateau has confirmed the murder of Mr Sylvanus Namang, the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mr Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, in a statement in Jos on Sunday, said that Namang was killed by gunmen at a relaxation spot in Pankshin. “On Saturday, at about 8 p.m., we received information that some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, numbering about seven, invaded a relaxation centre located along Pankshin-Jos road, and kidnapped the owner. ”In the process, a customer, one Sylvanus Namang, was shot dead by the invaders. ”On receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hassan Yabanet, directed the Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Pankshin, to arrest the suspects and rescue the victim. ”Our men engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle and were able to foil the kidnap attempt. Police launch manhunt to free abducted correctional service officer

OWERRI- The Imo Police Command has deployed a Special Tactical Squad to hunt down hoodlums responsible for the attack on Correctional Service Farm Settlement at Umualomoke in Okigwe Local Government Area of the state. The command’s Spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Owerri. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some hoodlums reportedly attacked the farm settlement and the residence of Sen. Patrick Ndubeze in the early hours of Monday. Okoye said the attackers forced the release of seven inmates and abducted a correctional officer in charge of the settlement. He said a Police Inspector was also killed during the attack. LAGOS- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has called on security agencies and government authorities to intervene promptly and secure the release of its abducted chairman, Philip Aivoji. The Lagos State PDP publicity secretary, Hakeem Amode, said in a statement on Friday that Mr Aivoji was abducted by unknown kidnappers on Thursday. “Aivoji was abducted on Thursday, Jan. 25, at about 6.00 p.m. on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway while returning from a stakeholders meeting in Oyo State convened by Gov. Gunmen kill 4 soldiers, kidnap expatriates in Rivers

PORT HARCOURT- Gunmen on Monday ambushed vehicles conveying Daewoo workers, killed two drivers and four soldiers escorting the expatriates in Rivers. No fewer than two expatriate workers of the company were reportedly kidnapped by the gunmen. Maj. Gunmen abduct Cross River traditional ruler

CALABAR- The traditional ruler of Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River, Etiyin Maurice Edet, was on Sunday night abducted by gunmen at his residence in the council area. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that an aide to the traditional ruler was shot dead in the process of the kidnapping. The spokesperson of the state Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident but said details were unknown to her as at press time. Panic as 13-year-old schoolgirl disappears in Lagos

The whereabouts of Miracle Adereti, a 13-year-old female who was abducted by an unidentified group in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State, have been reported to the police by her family. Miracle was said to have been kidnapped while returning from school on Friday, December 1. It was gathered that the kidnappers trailed her to school in the morning and waited till the closing period. The gang, who parked a short distance away from the school premises, thereafter abducted Miracle while she and her sister were walking home. How Gunmen That Attack Kaduna Community Kidnap Emir’s Nine Children

Kidnappers have abducted nine children and grandchildren of the  Emir of Kagarko in  Kaduna State, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar.  The incident occurred on Sunday night. Although the police authorities are yet to comment on the incident, a youth leader in  Kagarko Local Government, Adamu Abubakar, told Channels Television that the gunmen invaded the Emir’s Palace at about eleven o’clock at night and went straight to the apartments where the children and the youngest wife are living. Bandits Invade Church In Kaduna, kidnap 40 Worshippers

No fewer than 40 people were abducted by bandits during a church service at Bege Baptist Church, Madala along Buruku Baringi road in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.  The state chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna state Chapter, Rev.
