PORT HARCOURT (PRECISE POST) — Rivers State Governorship aspirant, Opuda (Alabo) Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has emerged unopposed in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship primaries held across Rivers State.
Lulu-Briggs described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and a true reflection of democratic values.
He disclosed this in a statement released on his X handle following the conduct of the party’s primaries on Friday, noting that the exercise in his local government area, Akuku-Toru, was calm, seamless, and marked by a strong display of unity among party members.
According to him, no opposing aspirant was present at the venue, leading to his affirmation by party faithful as the sole governorship candidate in the area.
“I emerged unopposed, with no opposing aspirant present at the venue, and I accepted the affirmation of our members with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility,” he stated.
The businessman and politician expressed appreciation to delegates, stakeholders, and supporters for their commitment to peace and progress throughout the process.
He also attributed the successful outcome of the primaries to divine grace, thanking God for guiding him through the exercise.
While awaiting the final collation of results and official announcements from the party leadership, Lulu-Briggs reaffirmed his commitment to public service and the ideals of the NDC.
“The journey to selfless service for Rivers State is only just beginning,” he said.
The NDC governorship aspirant added that the peaceful conduct of the primaries reflects the party’s dedication to democratic principles as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections in Rivers State.
