ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Anambra State Governor and the presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress(NDC) for the forthcoming 2027 general election, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, fairness, peace and love for one another as Muslims across the country celebrate Maulud Nabi.
Obi made the call in a goodwill message posted on his X handle on Tuesday to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He joined millions of Muslims in Nigeria and around the world in celebrating the occasion, describing the life of the Holy Prophet as an enduring example of compassion, justice, humility, honesty and service to humanity.
According to him, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad continue to provide guidance on the values of peace, tolerance and the pursuit of the common good.
“As we commemorate this sacred day, I pray that Allah (SWT) grants us the wisdom to follow the noble path of the Prophet; a path of unity, fairness, and love for one another, regardless of tribe, religion, or region,” Obi said.
He urged Nigerians to use the occasion to reflect on the need for greater unity and mutual understanding across religious, ethnic and regional lines.
The former governor also prayed for renewed hope, peace and progress in the country, asking Allah to bless Nigeria, protect its citizens and guide the nation’s leaders to serve with sincerity and justice.
He wished the Muslim Ummah a joyful, peaceful and spiritually uplifting Maulud Nabi celebration.
