ABUJA (PRECISE POST) ‘ Former Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing African-led approaches to governance, peace, and security, as he participated in a high-level board meeting of the Tana Forum in Accra, Ghana.
Disclosing this when he took to his X handle on Tuesday, Kemyatta recalled that the strategic gathering brought together some of the continent’s most influential policymakers and thought leaders, united by a shared vision of addressing Africa’s pressing challenges through homegrown solutions.
The meeting was chaired by Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, who led deliberations focused on strengthening democratic governance and enhancing regional stability.
Among the distinguished attendees were Catherine Samba-Panza, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadera Abera, former Ethiopian State Minister and ex-UN envoy Tekeda Alemu, renowned scholar PLO Lumumba, and seasoned conflict prevention expert Michelle Ndiaye.
Discussions at the meeting underscored the growing importance of African ownership in resolving conflicts and shaping governance frameworks across the continent. Participants emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among African states, institutions, and civil society actors to tackle emerging security threats and deepen democratic practices.
