According to the statement released via X account and e-signed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser Information and Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Highlights of Federal Executive Council (FEC) decisions on Monday 26 February presided by President Bola Tinubu are as follows; The implementation involves merging, subsuming and scrapping agencies with similar functions. The Oronsaye report was submitted in 2012 to the Jonathan administration. In 2014, the Jonathan government released a white paper on the report. The Buhari administration after re-examining the white paper also released a second white paper in August 2022, but did not implement the report. However, the Tinubu administration has decided to confront the monster of high governance cost by implementing elements of the report. Buhari Recants, Orders ‘Immediate Handover’ Of NASENI Boss

By Chris Udochukwu President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday reversed his earlier directive and has ordered the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Mohammed Haruna, to immediately hand over his office to the next most senior officer in the establishment. The Office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation disclosed this in a statement Tuesday by its Director, Information, Willie Bassey. According to Bassey, this follows the reversal of the extension in office granted by the President from April 2, 2023 to April 2, 2025 due to the fact that the EVC had completed two tenures of five years each in the organisation. “The President appreciates the contributions of Professor Haruna in the development of the engineering infrastructure sub-sector of the economy, and wishes him success in his future endeavours,” the statement added.
