Senator Ali Ndume has urged the Nigerian military to investigate and interrogate repentant terrorists. Appearing on a Channels Television programme on Thursday August 12, Ndume noted that the recent success achieved in the fight against insurgency shows that when the military gets the necessary resources, they will achieve results. The senator stated that there should be resettlement of those displaced by insurgency before profiling, investigating and interrogating those that have surrendered. He Said; “It didn’t come to me as a surprise actually, because I’ve been saying for a long time that the armed forces and other security agencies of the country are handicapped, otherwise, they have the capacity and the ability to prosecute this war. “Now that what they need is given to them, you can see the results within this short time. The Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume has taken back some of the words he said during the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan. Recall that he was a critic of the government under Jonathan. The lawmaker spoke on Saturday at Apo legislative quarters, Abuja, during the Grand Opening of Dr. PhysiQ Specialist Center for Wellness and Medical Lifestyle Change, and launching of a book titled: ‘Everything heals” authored by Dr. Susana Adams, the CEO of the Centre. By Edith Nwapi Abuja – The Borno National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Nyanya, on Monday dismissed a case filed by Malam Kudla Satumari of the PDP, challenging the election of Sen. Mohammed Ndume as winner of the Borno South Senatorial District.Satumari, is challenging the declaration of Sen. Ndume, of All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the Borno South Senatorial District poll on Feb. 23.Joined as respondents in the petition are; the APC and INEC.NAN reports that in the petition dated March 15, with a number, EPT/BO/SEN/1/2019 and made available to journalists, Satumari averred that the election was marred by corrupt practices and non-compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act.
