The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday announced the arrest of two suspected cattle rustlers and the recovery of 26 stolen cows valued at an estimated N6.25 million.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspects were apprehended following a prompt response to a report received at the Iresadu Division. The interception took place at Odojaye via Aganyan, Iresadu, where the suspects were attempting to conceal the stolen livestock.
“During the operation, 26 stolen cows, estimated at N6,250,000, were successfully recovered, reflecting the tangible results of coordinated police and community efforts in protecting property and livelihoods,” DSP Ayanlade said.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the suspected gang and recover additional stolen cattle. The police command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining a secure environment across the state.
