ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has intervened in a brewing dispute between Emirates Airlines and NJetours Ltd over visa cancellations and delays in refund payments affecting passengers.
The disagreement emerged after NJetours raised concerns about visa applications it handled for clients booked on Emirates flights, alleging complications that led to cancellations and subsequent delays in processing refunds, the statement released on the official X handle of the NCAA on Thursday said.
At a reconciliatory meeting convened by the NCAA on April 23, 2026, at its Lagos Regional Office, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, called on Emirates to seek an amicable resolution. He emphasized the importance of preserving the long-standing business relationship between both parties while ensuring that affected passengers are treated fairly.
Precise Post recalls that Achimugu reiterated the Authority’s statutory responsibility to safeguard passenger rights as well as ensure compliance by operators in line with aviation regulations. He also directed Emirates to keep the NCAA updated on progress made toward resolving the matter.
Responding on behalf of the airline, the Country Manager of Emirates, Paulos Legesse, commended the NCAA for its swift intervention. He assured that the airline would review the issues raised and provide feedback to the regulator.
The NCAA’s mediation is seen as a crucial step toward resolving the impasse and restoring confidence among affected travelers.
