BERLIN- The German Foreign Office has summoned the Chinese ambassador following an incident involving a German aircraft during an EU military mission in the Red Sea.
The Foreign Office wrote on the platform X on Tuesday that the Chinese military targeted the aircraft using a laser.
The endangerment of German personnel and the disruption of the EU’s Aspides mission were completely unacceptable, it said.
The Chinese ambassador to Germany, Deng Hongbo, was summoned on Tuesday in a sign of how seriously Berlin was taking the incident.
The Aspides mission aims to protect commercial ships in the Red Sea from the Houthi militia operating out of Yemen. (dpa/NAN)
