ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Deputy Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke, has urged traditional rulers in Edo and Borno states to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
Faleke made the call during the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s stakeholders’ engagement tour, which took the team to the palace of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, and the Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi.
In a statement posted on his X handle, Faleke said he joined the leadership and members of the PCC, led by Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, on a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin as part of efforts towards actualising Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
He expressed appreciation to the monarch for receiving the delegation and for his words of encouragement, describing the Oba as a father endowed with wisdom and committed to peace.
“May Almighty God continue to preserve you for us,” Faleke said, while expressing his respect for the monarch.
The APC delegation subsequently proceeded to the ancient Kingdom of Kanem-Borno, where it was received by the Shehu of Borno and members of his Emirate Council.
Faleke said the delegation used the visit to convey its message that President Tinubu should be allowed to continue in office beyond 2027.
“Our message was clear and precise: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must continue his good works beyond 2027,” he said.
The APC campaign council member also thanked the Shehu for receiving the delegation and for his “encouraging words.”
Faleke commended the monarch for what he described as selfless efforts towards promoting peace, unity and stability in Nigeria.
Precise Post recalls that the stakeholders’ engagement forms part of the APC’s ongoing mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
