Ronald Adams, Chairman of All On and Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo), has emphasized that Nigeria requires bold and strategic investments to bridge its massive energy gap, which continues to hinder economic growth and development.
Speaking at the 2025 International Business Conference & Expo of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Wednesday, Adams revealed that more than 80 million Nigerians still lack access to reliable electricity, a situation that stifles productivity, restricts healthcare and education, and undermines the country’s economic potential.
Despite the challenges, Adams noted that Nigeria’s energy deficit presents a $10–20 billion market opportunity in off-grid solutions such as solar home systems, mini-grids, and clean cooking technologies.
“All On, founded by Shell in 2016, has so far made over 50 direct investments, committed more than $40 million, and supported initiatives that have delivered clean energy access to over 1.2 million Nigerians across 190 underserved communities,” Adams stated.
He urged both local and international investors to channel funds into renewable energy and related sectors, stressing the need for strategic collaborations across agriculture, digital technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, and financial services.
Adams also commended ongoing government initiatives to attract foreign investments, including the launch of Investopedia, a digital platform designed to showcase business opportunities across Nigeria’s 36 states.
“We invite investors to seize the moment and unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s renewable energy sector. Together, we can build a future that is inclusive, sustainable, and resilient,” he concluded.
