President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Kaduna State on Friday for a dual engagement that blends condolence with celebration.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Tinubu will first pay a courtesy visit to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari. He is expected to stop at the residence of Aisha Buhari, the former First Lady, to offer his respects and condolences.
After the visit, the President will attend the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of Zamfara West Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, and Safiyya Shehu Idris. The ceremony is anticipated to draw top political figures and dignitaries from across the country.
Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja later in the day after the celebrations.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sharply criticised the President’s recent political actions in Rivers State. In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described Tinubu’s suspension and subsequent reinstatement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara as “whimsically autocratic.”
The ADC accused the President of masking “political brinkmanship as statesmanship,” warning that the move could become a defining moment for his political legacy. The party maintained that the suspension of the Rivers Governor was both self-serving and unconstitutional.
