ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Election Campaign Council for the 2026 Ekiti governorship poll, Opeyemi Bamidele, has reaffirmed the party’s resolve to secure a landslide victory for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in the forthcoming election.
Bamidele disclosed on Wednesday via his X handle that he, alongside the governor, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to brief him on the campaign council’s level of preparedness ahead of the official flag-off of campaigns.
According to him, the meeting focused on presenting the council’s strategy and ongoing work plan as the party intensifies efforts toward the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
He stressed that the APC campaign council is fully committed to delivering what he described as an “overwhelming victory,” revealing that the party is targeting at least 500,000 votes across all the 177 wards in Ekiti State.
Bamidele attributed the confidence of the party to Oyebanji’s performance in office over the past three years, noting that his administration’s track record has positioned him strongly for re-election.
He further expressed optimism that a decisive victory for Oyebanji would not only consolidate the APC’s hold on Ekiti State but also strengthen the party’s momentum ahead of the 2027 presidential election, where President Tinubu is expected to seek re-election.
