ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Bayelsa State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, Seriake Dickson, has declared that the party will take its message to every part of Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising to “paint the whole country blue” from next week.
Dickson made the declaration in a statement released on his official X handle on Saturday after a series of meetings with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
He said the meetings focused on the state of the party and preparations for the 2027 general elections, expressing satisfaction that the party’s leaders and candidates were united and committed to a common goal.
According to him, the NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, later joined the discussions alongside members of the NWC, who briefed the party leaders on preparations for the official unveiling and inauguration of the National Campaign Council scheduled for Monday.
Dickson described the discussions as fruitful, noting that the proposed campaign council would coordinate the activities of all NDC candidates across the country.
He said the council would oversee campaigns for the presidential candidate, National Assembly candidates, governorship candidates and candidates for state houses of assembly.
“This will be a campaign for the entire NDC, from top to bottom, with all candidates and party leaders actively involved and taking ownership of the process,” he said.
The former governor explained that the party’s campaign structure was designed to ensure collective participation and coordination at all levels, rather than concentrating campaign activities around the presidential candidate alone.
He added that further discussions and consultations would continue ahead of the party’s planned event next week.
Dickson also thanked Nigerians for their confidence and support, assuring them that the party’s leadership remained united and determined to spread its message nationwide.
“I assure them that our leaders are united and on the same page, and we will take the NDC message to every nook and cranny of Nigeria,” he said.
Precise Post recalls that the NDC is positioning itself for the 2027 general elections, with the planned inauguration of its National Campaign Council expected to mark a major step in coordinating its candidates and mobilising support across the country.
