Charles Idibia, the younger brother of Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has raised serious concerns about the singer’s well-being, accusing his new partner of manipulation and control.
In a series of emotionally charged Instagram posts, Charles refrained from naming the woman involved but strongly insinuated that she is the cause of a string of troubling developments in 2Baba’s personal and professional life.
He alleged that the unidentified woman hacked into 2Baba’s phone to announce his divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia, coerced him into relocating to Abuja, and pushed him to abandon long-standing business commitments in Lagos.
“You’ve been captured,” Charles wrote in a cryptic message, describing his brother as a kind, peaceful individual who avoids confrontation and often sacrifices for others, even at his own expense.
“It’s not wrong to move on from a place where you almost lost your life and soul. But you haven’t moved on — you’ve been captured. My heart bleeds,” he added.
Charles further claimed the woman had gone as far as adopting 2Baba’s surname and introducing herself publicly as his wife, despite his ongoing legal marriage to Annie.
He painted a disturbing picture, alleging the partner had sabotaged business trips, controlled his social media accounts, and even pressured the singer into retracting public statements simply because she wasn’t mentioned the way she wanted.
“She’s not a girlfriend; she’s a psychotic fan — a cancerous leech slowly destroying you and your legacy, all in the name of love,” Charles stated.
He warned that 2Baba’s current situation resembled a real-life “Crime and Investigation” story, where the singer could end up the victim.
In a heartfelt plea, Charles urged his brother to take an extended break from social media and the public eye to reflect and heal.
“Today, July 2, 2025, I beg you, bro — step away for a few months. Let the music and business wait. Focus on your healing and your children. They deserve a happy, healthy father,” he wrote.
He concluded by appealing to 2Baba’s wisdom and past resilience: “You are a great chess player. Now is the time to step back and analyze the board. This is not you.”
2Baba had publicly confirmed his relationship with a woman named Natasha in February 2025, following his highly publicized separation from actress Annie Idibia.
