Abuja (PRECISE POST) – It was a day of tributes, admiration, and heartfelt celebrations as Nigerians from all walks of life came together to honour Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on the occasion of his 56th birthday.
Precise Post recalls that though absent in person, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation was overwhelmingly present in spirit as well-wishers, political allies, and beneficiaries of his numerous empowerment programs paid glowing tributes to a man widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most impactful lawmakers.
Chief of Staff to Senator Yayi, Chief Odunaro Stanley Kayode, speaking on behalf of supporters at a special gathering in Abuja to celebrate him, described Senator Adeola as a “great Nigerian” whose two-decade-long legislative journey has significantly shaped lives and policy.
“We are celebrating a Nigerian that has made so much impact in the lives of individuals and in the life of the nation – Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola. His contributions, especially as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, have been phenomenal,” Chief Kayode said.
He noted that Adeola’s legislative track record speaks volumes, having previously served as Chairman of the Senate Committees on Finance and Local Content before taking the helm of the critical Appropriation Committee. According to him, the senator played a key role in institutionalizing the January-to-December budget cycle—a major achievement in Nigeria’s fiscal governance.
Across the three senatorial districts of his constituency, simultaneous celebrations were held in honour of the senator. These events were not just symbolic but reflective of his deep-rooted popularity and far-reaching impact. “People he has empowered and uplifted are celebrating him in their own way,” Kayode added.
Figures from his office reveal that over 50,000 individuals have benefitted from Senator Adeola’s empowerment initiatives. These include vocational training, equipment distribution, and scholarships to over 5,000 students. Additionally, more than 40,000 market women have received grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦75,000—non-repayable financial assistance aimed at boosting small businesses.
As he marks another year, many are already projecting the senator for higher national roles, particularly in the executive arm of government.
“He has held legislative positions for over 22 years—House of Representatives, three terms in the Senate—and in all these roles, he has discharged his duties creditably. We believe that if given the opportunity to serve in an executive capacity, he would do even more,” Chief Kayode remarked.
The celebrations may have been modest in scale but were deeply symbolic—an affirmation of Senator Yayi’s enduring legacy of service, impact, and hope under the “New Hope Agenda” he champions.

Similarly, speaking during the Event in Abuja, the Ag.Executive Chairman Federal Character Commission Hon Kayode Oladele who was also the chairman of the occasion stated that Yayi’s birthday marks not merely the passage of another year but a moment of deep significance for the people of Ogun West, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large.
“The 56th birthday of Senator Adeola is not just a personal milestone; it is a celebration of impactful leadership, transformational representation, and a lifelong commitment to public service and philanthropy.
