ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has expressed strong support for a grassroots football scouting initiative spearheaded by Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, OON.
Precise Post recalls that the football star paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, accompanied by the General Manager of Rangers International FC, Amobi Ezeaku, Esq.
During the visit, Omeruo briefed Governor Mbah on his proposed talent discovery and development project targeted at Enugu State and the wider South East region.
Disclosing this on his X handle on Wednesday with some photographs of himself and the other two, Governor Mbah said the initiative aims to identify, nurture, and promote young football talents from the grassroots level.
Commending the State Government for its ongoing support for sports and the revitalization of Rangers International FC, Omeruo noted that the project would tap into the passion for football across the region while creating new opportunities for youth empowerment.
In response, Governor Mbah praised Omeruo’s vision and commitment to youth development through sports. He assured the football star of the Enugu State Government’s full backing for the project, reiterating the administration’s broader commitment to advancing grassroots sports and strengthening Rangers International FC as a symbol of pride for both the state and the nation.
“Our meeting was indeed fruitful,” Mbah said, adding, “I look forward to seeing this project flourish to the benefit of our young talents and the future of football in our state.”
