Abuja (Precise Post) – Prof Chidi Odinkalu has reacted to call from some quarters for decentralisation of the Nigerian Bar Association over the de-invitation of Governor Nasir El’rufai at the association’s conference.
Precise Post recalls that the NBA has withdrawn the invitation it extended to the Kaduna Governor as one of the speakers at its 60th conference following protests for his invitation against the backdrop of alleged human rights abuses and violations of rule of law.
Odinkalu said the decentralisation should begin with the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC).
Chidi Odinkalu who stated this via his twitter handle @ChidiOdinkalu tweeted thus:
“All of a sudden, because of #ElRufai2020Cancelled, his contractors are now championing de-centralising @NigBarAssoc & parallel Bar. No problem – let’s begin by de-centralising the National Judicial Council, #NJC. Then the bar will will fall in line. #EndOfStory”.
