ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Abuja and its environs will witness sales revolution in the days ahead as Sales Coach and Business Strategist, Dr Femi Joshua hosts Sales Power Conference.
The day one of the two days of intensive learning and connection themed: “Learn The Art of Closing Deals” which held at Merit House, Maitama Abuja, recorded about 400 participants and each of the five panelists took their turn to dissect the art of selling.
Dr.Daniel Moses hinted that one of the thing about generating income for your business is selling. According to him, a lot of businesses fail because they don’t actually understand the importance of selling. Adding that selling is the actual blood-line of all businesses.
“If you don’t sale, you are actually setting your business for failure. So it is important for businesses, especially African businesses p- whether at the execitive level or sale and equipment team members level to understand the ability to drive in traffic, create more leads, nurture them over a period of time to increase income that they generate in their establishment.”
He further stated that there are principles that drive in fund into businesses in contrast to spirituality. There is no spirituality in your business when you are not selling. So the spirituality that we are talking about here is that miracle only works with those who understand how to sale and when they pray the sales come through but if you pray and you don’t understand how to sale, then at the end of the day, you are not going to make money, he said.

Dwelling on the secret of sales, Dr Femi Joshua who is the host said that there are three (3) principles of sales namely; Likeability, let people know you and building relationship with people. He hinted that people buy from who they know, who they like and who they trust. Therefore, for you to sale and outshine, you need to increase your likeability. When people like you, they will buy from you because nobody buys from a stranger.
Again, people need to know you – you need to be visible online. If you are not visible, you are just winking in the dark. You cannot continue to sale in a traditional way and wants to out-sale. The truth is that you need to be visible in the digital space, he said.
He further stated that you need to build relationship. In sales process, you need to build rappour. When people like and know you and you have strong relatiomships, it will be easier for you to sale. Stressing that Harvard research shows that the 24th century sales would be built on relationship.
On the objective of setting up the conference in Abuja, Dr.Joshua said it is to help business owners to out-sale because he discovered that a lot of business owners are struggling with sales in Abuja. So we put this together so that we can help them with the strategies that will help them to sale more.
“As someone who have sold for multi-natuonals and still sale as CEO of African School of Sales & Management and I also have my own R11eal Estate company that I sale, so we realised that a lot of companies are struggling with sales and there have not been any major sales conference in Nigeria before so I decided to set this up so that I can help business owners to design strategy on how they can generate their revenue. For every sales manager and business owner that comes in here today, they will have their highest revenue this year in terms of sales because sales is the compensation for production. If we are not selling, we are not in business and selling is the life-wire of every business. So that is why we are here – to help companies design strategies on how they can increase their revenues.
On what the conference would achieve, the Business Strategist said that every participant has designed a small programmes to follow up on the strategies because it is not enough for us to give out just the strategies only, we need to design a measuring mechanism to be sure that the principles that are laid here are being practiced because until everything we know becomes action, we have just wasted time, knowledge and resources. So we have other plans to follow up the companies to ensure they implememt the strategies learnt in this place.
