Actor Derek Dixon has filed a $260 million lawsuit against filmmaker and media mogul Tyler Perry, alleging sexual harassment, assault, and the creation of a hostile work environment. The suit, lodged in the Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that Perry used his influence to coerce Dixon into unwanted sexual encounters and retaliated when those advances were rejected, threatening the actor’s career.
According to court filings, the alleged misconduct began in 2020 during Dixon’s time working on Perry’s television series The Oval. Dixon asserts that Perry sent explicit messages, made repeated and unsolicited sexual advances, and ultimately retaliated against him by removing him from the show—resulting in significant financial losses. The actor reportedly filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in 2024.
In response, a spokesperson for Tyler Perry has categorically denied all allegations, describing them as “completely false” and characterizing the lawsuit as a baseless attempt to extort Perry.
As proceedings continue, the case is expected to draw widespread public and media attention given Perry’s prominent standing in the entertainment industry.
