ADA: Group Seeks INEC Approval for New Political Party Registration

Abuja (PRECISE POST) — The National Coalition Group (NCG) has formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), signaling a potential shake-up in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The official application, dated June 19, was acknowledged by INEC on June 20. The submission was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, who is serving as the Protem National Chairman of the association.

In the letter titled “Application for Registration as a Political Party,” the NCG stated that its decision to float a political party followed a resolution to sponsor the ADA as a fully recognized political entity.

“The name of the party shall be All Democratic Alliance with ADA as our acronym and ‘Justice for All’ as our slogan,” the letter reads.

According to the submission, the ADA’s application included key founding documents such as its constitution, manifesto, official logo, and party flag, all designed in compliance with Section 40 and 222 of the Nigerian Constitution and Section 75 of the Electoral Act (2022).

The party’s logo reportedly features symbolic elements including the maize plant, intended to represent growth, prosperity, and food security.

The group emphasized that its constitution outlines the legal framework guiding the party’s identity, structure, and operations, while the manifesto details the ADA’s ideology and vision for Nigeria.

“We eagerly await further action from the commission on the next step forward towards attaining our desired goal,” the letter concluded.

INEC has yet to make a public statement regarding the application. If approved, the ADA would join the roster of officially recognized political parties eligible to participate in future elections.
