Expressing deep sorrow and outrage, Musa described the incident as a national tragedy and a stark reflection of leadership failure.
In an emotional message shared on social media, the footballer questioned how many more innocent lives must be lost before the government takes decisive and sustained action. He urged political leaders to prioritize the security and well-being of Nigerians beyond the confines of election cycles, stressing that the people of Benue—and Nigerians as a whole—deserve lasting peace and justice.
The mass killings have triggered widespread condemnation both locally and internationally. In response, President Bola Tinubu has directed a military crackdown in the affected areas. Senior security officials, including the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector General of Police, have since visited the communities and pledged to bring those responsible to justice.
