ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The race for the 2027 Osun Central Senatorial seat has gathered momentum as political allies of Olubiyi Fadeyi officially declared his intention to contest by purchasing the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form on his behalf.
The group, comprising friends and political associates from across Osun Central Senatorial District, on Thursday stormed the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, where they secured the ₦20 million nomination form for the lawmaker.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Digital Media and Publicity to Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial district, Bashorun Adekanola Desmond made available to Precise Post on Thursday.
Fadeyi, who currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and holds the traditional title of Ajagunnla-Oodua ti Ile Yoruba, is expected to formally receive the nomination form later in the day.
The delegation was led by prominent political figures including Hon. Akin Titiloye, alongside Alhaji Rasheed Adeniji, Alhaji Success Ogundare, Hon. Fasola Adebayo, Hon. Fatokun Olusola, and Hon. Samad Adeyemi, among others under the platform of “Team Ajagunnla.”
Speaking on behalf of the group, Titiloye said the gesture was a collective move reflecting widespread support for the senator’s leadership and performance.
“We are not acting alone; this reflects the broad-based support he enjoys across the district. Though we contributed to purchase this form, he is currently unaware of this development,” he stated.
He added that the decision was driven by the desire to sustain the developmental strides recorded in Osun Central under Fadeyi’s representation.
“We came together to ensure that the development being witnessed across Osun Central continues without interruption,” Titiloye said.
The supporters expressed confidence that Fadeyi would build on his legislative achievements and continue delivering democratic dividends to constituents, noting that his impact has been felt across all segments of society.
“Ajagunnla has touched lives and continues to bring smiles to the faces of youths, adults, and the elderly across the district,” the group affirmed.
The development signals an early and strategic mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections, positioning Fadeyi as a strong contender in the Osun Central senatorial race.
