I read with pleasant surprise and amusement, how the Edo state Deputy Governor, Hon. Philip Shuaibu lashed out at Rt. Hon. Festus Ebea, a one time Deputy Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly, EDHA, who recently bursted the Deputy Governor’s bubbles by diffusing the scam of the Obaseki/Shuaibu Movement, OSM, on the so called Esan Agenda scam.
Hon. Philip Shuaibu’s response, in the Vanguard newspapers, through one Mr. Benjamin Atu, who is said to be his Senior Special Assistant on media is like trying to squeeze water out of stone.
For Hon. Shuaibu, and those that fabricated the so called Esan Agenda hoax to think that Esan people were deceived by the Esan Agenda scam, that this administration will hand over to an Esan man, to say the least, is an embarrassment and a disgrace to the Esan race.
If I may ask:
i) How can they “hand over” to whoever, in a democratic dispensation such as the one we are currently in?
ii) Does the implication of the said handing over to an Esan man by Obaseki, not mean that the Esan people do not know their rights, as such, can not demand for it?
iii) if not for their intention to puncture Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror’s rising political profile, hence his potential of contesting for Edo governorship position when the time comes for Edo central to present a candidate, why did they work assiduously against Edoror to frustrate him from contesting for the House of Representatives in 2019, and instead, asked him to contest for member to represent his constituency, Esan central, in Edo state House of Assembly, EDHA, for a third time…a situation they know was not acceptable, hence not possible in Edo central?
iv) In spite of it all, why was a whooping #20M given to some persons to work against Edoror in the last EDHA election, so as to make him lose the election?
Hon. Phillip Shuaibu, should by now, know that the secret pact between him and the current governor of Edo state, on who becomes the next governor after Mr. Obaseki, has long since been in public domain…it is no longer secret. He should also be informed that, this is one of the strong reasons that many Esan people are kicking against Obaseki’s anticipated second tenure.
For Philip Shuaibu to deny whatever Festus Ebea said about him, that he is covertly scheming to take over from Mr. Obaseki, is an open secret; and like he said in his response to Ebea; “…the God that knows tomorrow, also knows that an Esan man will definitely be the next governor of Edo state after Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s tenure; not anyone from Edo North, or Edo South…and like those from Kwara state will say: O TO GEEEEE…
