Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Presidential aspirant under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu have condemned the evil and brutal attack that took place at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Ondo State on Sunday.
Atiku who consoles the Catholic faithfuls in Nigeria, charged the relevant security agencies to leave no stone unturned in apprehending the criminals and bringing them to justice.
The former Vice President who gave the charge via his twitter handle said:
“I condemn the attack on the St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo council area of Ondo State capital. My prayers are with the people of Owo, especially families of the deceased.
“I do hope that the state government and relevant security agencies will leave no stone unturned in apprehending the criminals and bringing them to justice. I condole with the body of Catholic faithful in Nigeria.
“I pray that some day, very soon, we shall have a lasting solution to these painful episodes .-AA.”
Similarly, former Governor of Lagos state,, Bola Tinubu, also prayed healing and comfort for the injured and the bereaveSed.
He said: I strongly condemn the evil and brutal attack that took place at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Ondo State, this morning. I pray healing and comfort for the injured and the bereaved.
Also, former President Of the senate, Dr Bukols Saraki has called for the swift arrest of the terrorists and punishment for their actions.
In his words: “My prayers are with the families of the worshipers who were killed today during a church service at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. Now more than ever, these gruesome killings must end.
“We must protect all Nigerian lives by dealing decisively with the terrorists that perpetrate such acts. It is my hope, and that of all Nigerians, that the terrorists will be swiftly apprehended and made to face the full consequences of their actions.
“May the Almighty God grant the victims speedy recovery, and bring solace to all the affected families.”
On his part. aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri has offered to pay N5 each to any one who donates blood to the Catholic Church attack.
Reno said:
“If you go to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, to donate blood for the St Francis Catholic Church attack victims, and upload a video as the nurses take your blood, I will give you ₦5k for your transport.
