The names of 36 students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, in Askira/Uba LGA of Borno state abducted on Monday have been made public.
The students were among candidates writing the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination on Monday when armed men stormed the school and abducted dozens of candidates, taking them to an unknown destination.
Troops of the Nigerian Army later rescued 10 of the victims after engaging the fleeing attackers in a gun battle.
On Tuesday, families of the abducted students said dozens of candidates were still unaccounted for as efforts to locate them continued.
Reports indicate that the Borno state government on Tuesday opened a register for families to report missing persons.
According to the Daily Trust, about 36 names have been recorded so far, comprising 11 male and 25 female students.
One is said to be an SS3 student, 17 are in SS2, while 18 are in SS1.
